South Korea confirms fourth ASF case in 2024
South Korea has confirmed its fourth case of African swine fever (ASF) in swine farms this year, Yonhap News Agency reported.
The latest ASF case was detected at a farm in Yeongcheon, located 243 km southeast of Seoul, according to South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture.
In response, the government has issued a 48-hour standstill order for swine farms and related facilities in the surrounding region.
The ministry stated that this case will have a limited impact on the local pork market and urged farms to strictly follow necessary quarantine procedures.
