Turkish poultry production rises in April
Egg and chicken and turkey meat productions in Turkey increased in April year-on-year, according to the country's statistical agency.
The Turkish Statistical Institute said hen egg production increased 4.4% to 1.6 billion units compared with the same month last year.
Chicken meat production increased 10.9% to 191,567 tonnes compared with April 2017, while turkey meat production increased 63.6% to 5,980 tonnes from last year.
The number of slaughtered chicken in April increased 11% to 109 million compared with the same month in 2017, while that of slaughtered turkey rose 51.4% to 571,000.
Turkey is the world's eighth-largest poultry meat producer as of 2016.
