Mounting stocks pressure China methionine producers to cut prices

Prices of methionine dropped considerably during the week ending June 18.

Methionine producers were pressured to cut prices amid mounting inventories. Nonetheless, trade was light as soft poultry prices and slow feed consumption prompted feed producers to limit purchases of methionine.

For liquid methionine, price quotes were stable at around RMB15.50/kg.

Poultry feed sales will be slow, curtailing the demand for methionine.
