Ukraine's State Committee for Material Reserves (the State Reserve) has sold 12,900 tonnes of meat to meat-processing plants in an effort to stabilise domestic market prices.
The Resurspostach enterprise, which is part of the State Reserve, sold the meat that included 7,800 tonnes of froze chicken quarters, 2,300 tonnes of minced chicken meat, 1,600 tonnes of chilled pork and 1,140 tonnes of frozen pork sides.
About 22,100 tonnes of meat were delivered to Resurspostach for subsequent sale to meat-processing firms, including 13,400 tonnes of frozen chicken quarters, 5,130 tonnes of minced chicken meat, 1,600 tonnes of chilled pork sides, 1,140 tonnes of frozen pork sides and 800 tonnes of pork blocks.
The move was authorised by the Cabinet of Ministers on April 12, 2008.
