Russia to inspect Vietnam's catfish plants

Food hygiene inspectors from Russia will visit 24 Vietnamese catfish processing plants to check if these have met qualifications set by Russian authorities.

Nguyen Tu Cuong, director, of the National Fisheries Quality Assurance and Veterinary Directorate (Nafiqaved) said exporters' failure to meet the standards will have their shipment licences to Russia revoked.

Russia will also work with Nafiqaved over an agreement that Nafiqaved-certified exporters will not need to seek authorisation from Russian agencies anymore.
