Japan buys feed wheat, feed barley in tender
Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has bought 18,145 tonnes of feed wheat and 232,114 tonnes of feed barley in a simultaneous-buy-sell, or SBS, tender concluded Friday (Jun 16), a ministry official said.
The official said the entire cargo will arrive in Japan between Jul 1 and Aug 31.
No further details on the origin or price of the wheat or barley shipment were provided by the ministry.
The tender is part of the SBS quota that Japan agreed to under a World Trade Organization agreement to allow foreign producers limited access to the Japanese market.
