EU decides extending feed wheat imports duties till year-end
The suspension of the bloc's import duties on feed wheat has been decided by the EU to be extended from July 1 until the end of 2012.
"Formally speaking the vote was a "no opinion" such as neither a qualified majority in favour, nor against. Under EU comitology rules, the commission (the EU executive arm) will now adopt the decision in the coming days under its own authority," said the commission late Thursday (June 14).
"The decision will be published in the Official Journal so that it can enter into force on the first of July--in order to ensure there is no legal void," it said.
