Hungary hikes farmgate poultry prices by 5 percent

Poultry processors in Hungary have increased its farmgate prices by 5 percent on average this week filtering and another hike of similar extent can be expected in the autumn, said Laszlo Takacs, director of the Poultry Product Council.

Takacs said autumn price jump is brought forth by by rising energy and fodder prices.

Takacs noted that even the combined 10 percent price hike this year would not fully compensate for revenues producers lost last year.
