Poor demand drags down China tryptophan prices (week ended Jun 15, 2020)

Tryptophan sales remained sluggish with as hog feed producers limited output while the hog market stayed soft. Producers and traders were compelled to cut prices in order to move sales.
 
Over the week, export prices of tryptophan slid US$0.30/kg to US$7.50/kg.
 
With demand for hog feed below expectations, feed producers will continue to limit tryptophan inventories. Mounting inventory pressure will prompt producers to negotiate prices to attract buyers.
