Russia's spring grain acreage exceeds planned indices
Russia's agrarians planted spring grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 30.4 million hectares, or 100.2% of the planned areas as of June 13, and up 505,000 hectares compared with the same date last year.
In particular, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout over 2.3 million hectares (106.5% of the forecast), rice - 182,700 hectares (93.3%), announced the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
As of the reporting date, Russia planted sunflower seed throughout 6.7 million hectares (105.1% of the plan), spring rapeseed - 1.1 million hectares (92.7%), soy - 1.2 million hectares (74.1%).
Generally, Russia already provided the spring crops planting campaign throughout the areas of 48.5 million hectares, or 95.2% of the forecast, and up 321,000 hectares compared with the same date in 2012.
