Animal health product manufacturer Bomac Vets Plus has renewed a five-year licensing agreement for Probios brand animal health products with Chr. Hansen, a microbial product manufacturer.

Under the agreement, Bomac has exclusive use of Chr. Hansen's beneficial bacteria strains in the manufacturing and marketing of Probios brand products. Bomac will also use its research, development, manufacturing and marketing strengths to expand the brand.

Probios is a Direct Fed Microbial (DFM), containing guaranteed levels of beneficial bacteria. DFM products help animals to maintain healthy microbial balance and are used as stress recovery aids and daily supplements.

The first agreement was signed in 2002 and Bomac president and CEO Raj Lall said the company has experienced great growth since, with the first quarter of 2008 witnessing a 26-percent growth in Probios brand sales on-year.

The renewed licensing agreement will extend to the company's new subsidiary, Bomac Vets Plus (India) Private Limited, allowing it to manufacturer and market Probios brand products to India and other international markets.
