China Methionine: Stable price despite slow demand (week ended Jun 12, 2023)

Methionine producers were reluctant to cut prices, which were lower by 25%. Sales remained limited amid slow feed consumption.
Transacted price of locally produced dl-methionine in China increased to the range of RMB14.90-16.90/kg whereas those of imported products were at RMB17.10/kg.
Methionine hydroxy analogue prices consolidated in the range of RMB12-13.80/kg.
Export prices of dl-methionine slid to US$2.10/kg.
Methionine producers will attempt to hold prices stable despite sluggish demand.
