Norwegian fresh poultry sales up by 0.4%

 

 

Sales of fresh poultry on the Norwegian grocery retail market rose by 0.4% to NOK1.6 billion (US$288 million) during the 12-month period ending in April 2011 compared with the year earlier.

 

In terms of volume, poultry sales rose by 3.4%. Chicken accounted for about 94% of the sales in terms of value.

 

Sales of fresh ostrich rose by as much as 476.5% to NOK92,000 (US$16,588)and sales of fresh goose and duck rose by 48.2% to NOK14.4 million (US$2.6 million), while sales of fresh turkey dropped by 3.3%.
