Vietnam approves two more Brazilian beef plants as authorised supplier list grows to 12

Nearly 100 additional Brazilian facilities are awaiting clearance, as Vietnam's beef import programme continues to expand since the market opened in March 2025.

Vietnam has approved two additional Brazilian beef processing plants for export access, bringing the total number of authorised Brazilian beef facilities to 12 across five business groups.

The newly cleared plants are operated by Naturafrig in Pirapozinho, São Paulo state, and Sulbeef in Aparecida do Taboado, Mato Grosso do Sul. The full list of authorised facilities now comprises four JBS plants, two MBRF units, four Minerva facilities and the two newly approved plants.

Vietnam opened its market to Brazilian beef in March 2025. The market is estimated to have potential demand of 300,000 tonnes per year. Nearly 100 Brazilian plants have submitted the documentation required for approval and are still awaiting clearance from Vietnamese authorities, indicating that the authorised supplier list is likely to continue expanding.

Brazil also extended its poultry export access to South Korea during the same period, with the number of approved meatpacking plants rising to 54 from 45. The number of cold storage units cleared for the South Korean market also increased, to 10 from nine.
