China harvests 10.2 million hectares of winter wheat, summer planting underway

Data released by China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs showed the country's winter wheat harvest has reached 10.2 million hectares, accounting for approximately 80 percent of the total wheat growing area, while summer planting activities are currently in progress, China Daily reported.

As the wheat harvesting efforts continue, they are gradually moving northward to the provinces of Shandong, Shanxi, and Hebei.

To support the harvests this year, Shandong province has implemented measures to facilitate the process.

In Linyi county, local authorities have established partnerships with 133 farming machinery outlets to provide on-site repair services. It has also opened public places such as citizen squares and set up nearly 1,000 sunbathing sites for harvests.
