JBS announces pharmaceutical investment
The major Brazilian meatpacker said it will build a new heparin factory under Orygina, it's pharmaceutical subsidiary in Sao Paulo, Reuters reported.
The company said the new heparin factory will start operating in 2023. Heparin is a anticoagulant made from cattle and pork guts, used to treat heart disease and blood clots.
In addition, a new JBS Transportadora unit, its logistics company, will establish a hub in Sao Paulo. It's total investment is 100 million BRL (~US$20 million, 1 BRL = US$0.19)
There is another Orygina plant in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul state.
