Chicken consumption soars with South Korean hopes at the World Cup
Chicken consumption in South Korea is soaring as South Koreans stayed glued to their television screens while munching on fried chicken as their team looks set to advance to the second round of the World Cup.
The country's Chicken Food Service Association estimates South Korean supporters would collectively consume over 1.8 million chickens during the tournament, about 2.5 times more than usual.
South Korean fans are consuming fried chicken as a late-night snack as they cheer for their national team.
