Vietnamese Seafood Exports To Asia-Pacific Fetch US $300 Million

Vietnamese seafood exporters have so far this year raked in US $300 million from the Asian-Pacific markets, which accounted for 41 percent of the country's total seafood exports.

Vietnamese shrimp and products made from shrimp have become popular in the region, particularly in such markets as Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong.

In a bid to help local seafood exporters have access to technological advances in aquaculture, an international seminar on aquaculture will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 15-16.

The seminar, which will be jointly held by the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, the United Nations Agriculture and Food Organisation, as well as INFOFISH International, will focus on eco-aquaculture and maritime aquaculture.
