Bangladesh Chosen For Price Estimation In Shrimp Dumping Lawsuit

The US Department of Commerce has issued a preliminary determination to choose Bangladesh as an alternative country in estimating prices in the anti-dumping shrimp lawsuit filed by US shrimpers.

The Willkie Farr and Gallagher and IDVN law firms, which represent Viet Nam in this lawsuit, said that the determination is considered to benefit Viet Nam although the petitioners had earlier wanted to select India.

Bangladesh shares many similarities with Viet Nam in shrimp breeding, which include having the same economic growth rate. It is also the shrimp producer that is under investigation, the law firms added.
