World Aquaculture 2017

World Aquaculture 2017 will be held with involvement from countries throughout the African continent and around the world. Aquaculture is rapidly growing in Africa and increasingly being integrated into the continent's food systems; therefore 2017 is the perfect time for the world aquaculture community to focus on Africa.A major international trade show at World Aquaculture 2017 is the place to learn about the latest aquaculture technologies presented by exhibitors from around the world.
Plenary speakers include Dr Sloans Chimatiro, who played a leading role in the formulation of fisheries and aquaculture policy and governance programmes for the African Union; Tom Hecht, an emeritus professor of Rhodes University where he helped to position the Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science as a regional centre of excellence in aquaculture; and Rohana Subasinghe, a specialist in aquaculture development and aquatic animal health management.

BIM National Seafood Conference 2017

With the theme "Winning in a Changing Environment", this one-day seafood industry meeting is Ireland's premier seafood conference for 2017 and it is an essential business meeting and networking date for anyone active in Ireland's seafood sector.

Asia-Pacific Aquaculture 2017

The Asian-Pacific Aquaculture 2017 showcases the latest in aquaculture and the newest technologies in the trade show with exhibits from around the world. The Aquaculture Roundtable Series (TARS) 2017

The theme for this seventh edition of Aquaculture Roundtable Series (TARS) 2017 is "Finfish Aquaculture: Strategies for Growth". This is the second time this roundtables series, initiated in 2011, is focusing on finfish aquaculture. While at TARS 2013 the focus was industrialisation along the value chain, TARS 2017 will look at the growth potential of the industry in Asia and will develop strategic approaches toward market-driven production.
To be held in Conrad Bali, TARS 2017 will, in the plenary session, feature 16 state-of-the-industry and science presentations by local and international industry experts. This will be followed by a "Hard Talk with Finfish Farmers", three interactive breakout roundtable sessions with discussion on strategies for growth, and a final panel session.
The two-day meeting aims to promote positive image building and improve relationships and communication among the key players in the finfish sector, different markets, governments and NGOs.

Aquaculture Laboratory hybrid course at Oregon State University
August 21 – September 8, 2017
Newport, Oregon, USA
Aquaculture Laboratory is aimed at students who would like to develop a practical understanding and the basic techniques associated with aquaculture and aquaculture research. The first week of this course is held online and will provide an overview of aquaculture as well as planning for the on-campus portion.
The second and third weeks are held at the Hatfield Marine Science Centre in Newport, Oregon. Course topics are centered around west coast species including salmonids, oysters, algae and ornamental species.
Course activities will include:
1.) Field trips to the Oregon Hatchery Research Centre, Alsea Hatchery and behind the scenes at Oregon Coast Aquarium;
2.) Student-led research projects centered on PNW species; and
3.) Hands-on activities associated with water-quality testing, system design/component breakdown and live feed cultures.
This course is open to non-OSU students and student housing is available at the Hatfield Marine Science Center.
