Poland's Greater Poland region struck by ASF outbreak
An African swine fever (ASF) outbreak has struck Greater Poland, Poland's biggest pig-producing region, affecting nearly 2,000 pigs.
The case involves a farm with 1,994 pigs (175 sows and gilts, 1249 piglets and 570 finishing pigs), located in Boguszyn, Wloszakowice commune, Wielkopolskie voivodship.
Last year, Poland reported a total of 124 outbreaks in domestic pigs.
As for cases in wild boar, the country has confirmed 1,071 cases so far this year.
