EU, Russia to discuss Poland's meat ban

Officials from the European Union and Russia expected to reopen talks on meat exports from Poland this week.

Topping the list is EU's guarantees over the quality and safety of meat exported to Russia.

Russian food safety Rosselkhoznadzor has been concerned that meat products are entering Russian market through Poland without meeting Russia's food safety regulations.

Russia has blocked Polish meat exports last autumn which led Poland vetoing a bilateral agreement between the EU and Russia earlier this year.
