South Carolina meat firm recalls beef over possible E.coli contamination

Snow Creek Meat Processing, in Seneca, South Carolina, is recalling some of its beef, according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Monday (June 8).

About 75 pounds of fresh beef trim products are being recalled due to possible E. coli contamination.

The recalled items are various sizes of cryovac bags of "beef trimmings, beef item" packed in boxes.

Each box bears the number Est. 20478 inside the USDA mark of inspection, with a sell-by date of June 2, 2009.

The beef was produced on June 2 and sent to retailers for further processing in North and South Carolina.
