Agrograin switches to Cargill brand in Hungary
Cargill has announced that its Agrograin business has changed to the ''Cargill'' brand name, effective June 1, 2009.
Cargill has been active in Hungary since 1995 when it acquired a minority shareholding in Agrograin, one of the leading grain and oilseeds trading and storage companies in Hungary. Cargill gained full ownership of the business in October 2007.
The name change will enhance Cargill's strategy of developing its origination capacity and increasing its competitiveness in the grains, oilseeds and crop inputs arena in Central and Eastern Europe.
"This change in branding recognises the overall ownership and the growth of our investment and service strength in Hungary", said Zsolt Kocza, general manager of Cargill Hungary.
The name change will also help to leverage capabilities within Cargill's other businesses in Hungary and will further strengthen its existing customer relations.
Meanwhile, Cargill is further expanding its activities in Hungary to include supplying more farmers with seeds, chemicals and fertilisers.
Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services, with presence in 67 countries.
