Norway's seafood exports on the rise

 

 

Norwegian seafood exports reached NOK 2 billion in May, an increase of NOK 260 million compared with the same month last year.

 

For the year so far, Norway has exported NOK 12 billion worth, an increase by 12 percent compared with the same period last year.

 

In the month of May, the export of salmon and trout alone was worth more than NOK 1 billion, an increase by 14 per cent compared with May last year.

 

Despite the EU tax on Norwegian salmon which was introduced earlier this year, the value of exports of fresh salmon to France during May reached a value of NOK 134 million, an increase of 59 percent compared with the same month last year.
