Kazakhstan sows spring crops over 15.49 million hectares
As of June 6, 2012, Kazakhstan has already sowed spring cereal crops over the areas of 15.49 million hectares, or 99.9% of the plan, reported by the oblast departments of agriculture of the country.
For example, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 93.9 thsd hectares (90.6%), rice - 92.5 thsd hectares (103.9%), oilseeds - 1.828 million hectares (100.1%).
Kazakhstan also planted cotton seed throughout 147.3 thsd hectares, or 97.2% of the planned areas.
