Ukraine reports 39% winter crops in acceptable condition
In most of the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine, winter crops areas show satisfactory condition - 39%, or 222,600 hectares, said Olga Shevchuk, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of the Crimea.
The territory of 144.5 thsd hectares or 26% of grain areas show weak or sparse condition, 100 thsd hectares or 18% are perished crops, including winter wheat - 39.7 thsd hectares, winter barley - 60.4 thsd hectares. Frosts wiped out 20% of winter crops areas in the Crimea.
The Deputy Minister stressed that agricultural enterprises of the Crimea already provided replanting of winter grain crops throughout the areas of 47.3 thsd hectares.
