Cherkizovo and Innopraktika approve roadmap to promote agricultural R&D and education
Cherkizovo Group and Innopraktika, a non-governmental development institution, have approved a 2021 roadmap to cooperate in advancing agricultural R&D and education.
This event was announced during the St Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia.
Both parties developed the roadmap in furtherance of an agreement signed in December 2020. The document provides for collaboration in several key areas, which include building infrastructure to bring advanced technologies to the Russian agricultural sector. As part of these efforts, the Innagro project launched by Innopraktika in 2020 will see the companies jointly test innovative Russian-made biological products for agricultural applications.
Cherkizovo will also provide venue for the testing and validation of crop protection agents and feed additives for animals.
Another important field of collaboration will be educational programmes designed to nurture agricultural talent. Cherkizovo and Innopraktika are expected to assist in developing such programmes for agricultural universities and take part in staging events aimed to build the prestige of agricultural education and careers, such as contests and competitions.
The roadmap also envisages support of agricultural classes across Cherkizovo Group's footprint and partnership with industry unions in drafting proposals to update the legislative framework and strategic planning documents of key importance for the agricultural sector.
"Cherkizovo Group is one of Russia's innovation leaders, and we appreciate their willingness to cooperate. Signing of the roadmap is a logical step to continue our joint work aimed at promoting agricultural education and scaling up advanced biotechnologies in this area. The group's technological excellence, expertise and competencies, coupled with their drive for agricultural innovation, are poised to propel Russia's agricultural sector ahead," said Natalya Popova, first deputy general director of Innopraktika.
"We are very happy to see our cooperation with Innopraktika moving forward and acquiring new meaning. No doubt, the joint projects outlined in the roadmap will yield measurable results in the foreseeable future, both in regards to enhancing efficiency in crop farming and feed production, and improving the quality of agricultural education, which is crucial for the Russian agricultural industry," said Maxim Zudin, chief executive officer of Poultry Management Company and head of feed and grain segments at Cherkizovo Group.
"Having on board a partner with such extensive knowledge and scientific track record like Innopraktika will enable us to greatly advance these goals and benefit the country's (Russia) agricultural industry as a whole."
