Russia's Akashevskaya to build four new hatcheries

Russian poultry integrator Akashevskaya, based in the Republic of Mari El, is investing in four new hatcheries, all of which will be commissioned in 2013.

 

The first hatchery of 65 million eggs/year is currently being constructed, while the second (31 million eggs/year) and the third (14 million eggs/year) will be delivered in the second half of 2013.

 

Akashevskaya has also signed a new deal at the VIV Russia show last week, to deliver a fourth hatchery for parent stock (15 million eggs/year), which will bring the total capacity of Akashevskaya to 150 million eggs/year.

 

Petersime will provide Akashevskaya's hatcheries' with HVAC equipment and BioStreamerâ„¢ incubators, equipped with the modern incubation technologies such as Eco-Driveâ„¢, Eye-Blinkâ„¢ and Embryo-Response Incubationâ„¢ technology. Petersime distributor in Russia, Hartmann GmbH, is coordinating the project, including hatchery layout, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training of local staff.

 

The construction of the three new hatcheries is part of Akashevskaya's extension programme. With the new hatcheries, Akashevskaya's total meat production will increase from 60,000 tonnes/year to 200,000 tonnes/year.

 

Akashevskaya started cooperation with Petersime and Hartmann in 2009, when Akashevskaya invested in the first hatchery with a capacity of 25 million eggs/year.
