USDA gives first rating of US soy crop conditions

The US soy has been given a good or excellent assessment for 65% of the crop in the week ended June 3 - the first quality rating of the current soy crop by the USDA.

In its weekly Crop Progress report, USDA rated 29% of the soy crop as fair and 6% as either poor or very poor.

USDA rated 72% of the US corn crop in good or excellent condition, unchanged from a week ago, though 15% of that total was rated excellent, up from 13% a week ago.
