Russia sows over 47 million hectares spring crops
As of June 5, 2012, farmers have sown spring crops over the areas of more than 47 million hectares (93% of estimate), 584,000 hectares higher against on-year, the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reported.
Agrarians almost completed planting of spring grains - 29.4 million hectares (97%), up 780,000 hectares compared to 2011.
As a reminder, in the current year Russia plans to plant wheat throughout nearly 30 million hectares (including spring wheat - 13 million hectares), barley - eight million hectares, rye - two million hectares, corn - 1.8 million hectares.
