Russia decreases grain imports from far abroad countries by 46.7%
 

 

Russia reduced the import volumes of food products from far abroad countries by 10.9% as of the end of May 2013 compared with the previous month, and imported the commodities at the sum of US$3.32 billion.

 

This was declared by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation on June 5.

 

According to the announcement, in the reporting month the imports of grains from the mentioned countries to Russia decreased by 46.7% to US$53.4 million. Also, there was a reduction of foreign purchases of vegetable oil by 26.6% to US$111.7 million, sugar - down 26.3% to US$71.5 million, and meat and by-products - down 6.5% to US$542.9 million.
