Hong Kong restricts Danish, Dutch poultry imports

Due to fears of bird flu infections at two farms, Hong Kong has banned imports of poultry from Denmark and the Netherlands.

The Centre for Food Safety said the World Organisation for Animal Health has detected outbreaks of low-pathogenic H7 avian influenza on a game bird farm in Viborg Municipality, Denmark, and a poultry farm in Utrecht Province, the Netherlands.

Import of poultry and poultry products, including poultry eggs, from the two areas has been banned with immediate effect, the centre said.
