South Korea to buy 100,000 tonnes of non-GMO soybeans via tender
South Korea is seeking to buy 100,000 tonnes of non-genetically modified soybeans for 2008 arrival via tender, an official at the state-run Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp. said on Tuesday.
The tender was split into four lots of 25,000 tonnes each for arrival between January and July next year at the port of Inchon.
Offers should be made by 4 p.m. (0700 GMT) on June 12, and an electronic tender will be held between 10 a.m. (0100 GMT) and noon (0300 GMT) on June 13.
The agency had bought only 25,000 tonnes of soybeans among 125,000 tonnes on May 21 due to high prices.
