Falling post-festive demand drags down China lysine prices

Lysine prices dropped significantly during the week ending June 5.

Demand for pork decreased substantially after the Dragon Boat Holidays, decimating the sales of feed and hence lysine. With inventory pressure mounting, lysine producers slashed prices in efforts to promote sales.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine slid to the range of RMB8-8.50/kg.

Prices of lysine are seen stable to weaker in the coming period.

RMB1=US$0.1470 (Jun 5)
