Ukraine's spring grains sowing plan achieves 100%
As of June 1, 2012, Ukraine sowed spring grains and leguminous crops over the areas of 8.94 million hectares, or 100% of the plan, according to operative data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 4.57 million hectares (103%) of the planned 4.45 million hectares.
Agrarians already planted sorghum throughout 167,000 hectares (84% of the plan), buckwheat - 271.8 thsd hectares (96%) and millet - 192.6 thsd hectares (82%).
Besides, Ukraine planted soy\ throughout 1.312 million hectares, or 102% of the plan, sunflower seed - 4.17 million hectares, or 102% of the planned 4.09 million hectares.
Also, as of June 1, agrarians re-planted the perished winter grain areas throughout 1.31 million hectares, or 86% of the forecast, including 1.02 million hectares of spring grains (437,000 hectares of barley, 446,000 hectares of corn, 56,000 hectares of sorghum, 289.9 thsd hectares of other spring crops).
