Honduras to fully resume its US beef trade

Honduras has agreed to full restoration of beef trade with the United States as it will accept all beef and beef products from the United States, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said.

Only those who have been federally inspected by FSIS are eligible to export to Honduras. All products for export must be accompanied by an FSIS Form 9060-5, "Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness."

Recent exports of frozen-beef exports to Honduras have increased exponentially. According to Foreign Agricultural Service data, trade in the first three months of 2007 is up 172 percent over 2006. In 2006, US beef and beef product exports to Honduras totaled US$1.1 million.
