Ukraine's 2005-2006 corn export seen totaling 2.7 million tonnes

 

 

Ukraine is on course to export 2.7 million tonnes of corn in the current marketing year, the APK-Inform market analyst reported Monday (Jun 5).

 

As of May 31, Ukraine has exported 2.26 million tonnes of corn in the current marketing year, which began Oct 31, 2005.

 

APK-Inform increased its corn export forecast from its previous estimate of 2.4 million tonnes.

 

In the 2004-2005 marketing year Ukraine exported 2.33 million tonnes of corn.

 

Ukraine's corn export in May was 213,800 tonnes, more than double the April figure. The largest importer of Ukrainian corn in May was Iran with 121,300 tonnes. Smaller amounts went to Belarus, Russia and Libya.
