Thailand announces new initiative to boost agriculture industry

Thailand's Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin unveiled the vision and strategy principles for the "IGNITE Agriculture 2025" initiative, which aims to propel Thailand to the forefront of the global agriculture and food industries, Pattaya Mail reported.

He emphasised that agricultural policy is a top priority for the administration because the agricultural sector is essential to the country's economic and social development.

With agriculture employing more than 40% of Thailand's population, the government is dedicated to improving the sector, promoting Thai farmers, and tripling their income within four years.

This commitment includes support for upstream production, processing, and export to the global market, as well as critical policies and actions.
