Philippines to exhibit latest poultry industry equipments
Poultry equipment manufacturers will be exhibiting the latest equipments at the Agrilink 2010, which will be held on October 7-9 at the World Trade Center, Metro Manila.
Among those which will exhibit modern poultry equipment is Belmont Agricorp which has been in the industry for over 35 years. Belmont marketing manager Tony Magno said they will be displaying their modern tunnel ventilation system, which uses fibreglass cone fans installed at one end of the house and large openings at the opposite end. The improved air quality removes excess heat, moisture, dusts, odours and harmful gases like carbon dioxide and ammonia, providing the birds with more free oxygen.
Belmont's tunnel ventilation system lowers the temperature in the poultry house through evaporative cooling. The decrease in humidity will keep the animals comfortable so they can eat more and grow faster. The birds are healthier and will require less medication.
Magno said they customise each tunnel ventilation system, depending on the farm environment. He added that Belmont's tunnel ventilation system lessens land area requirements, providing higher bird stock density by at least 35% more.
The Combi-Tunnel Ventilation system takes in fresh air through wall inlets and tunnel openings, creating a cooling air current of 10-25 degrees Celsius, depending on the air humidity, and air is then let out through gable fans at the opposite end.
Agrilink, which is supported by 20 major Philippine trade associations, will bring together local and international suppliers and exhibitors, highlighting the latest technologies and inputs that will improve efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability of the interdependent industries of agriculture, food and aquaculture.
