UK confirms H7 bird flu strain in poultry in central england

England's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) confirmed Tuesday (June 2, 2008) the H7 bird flu strain in chickens on a farm in Banbury in Oxfordshire in central England.

All birds on the premises will be slaughtered as a precautionary measure, Defra said.
