Brazil's Paraná state to set new record of wheat production

The southern Brazilian state of Paraná will be able to harvest nearly four million tonnes of wheat this year, according to the estimate by the Secretariat of Agriculture.

The projection was based on the good development of the crops so far. The estimated wheat planting area is approximately 3.2 million acres. Nearly 32% of that area has already been planted. The previous production record registered for the 2010/2011 season crop was 3.3 million tonnes.
