Brazil's chicken exports up 32.6% while beef exports fall 6.9% in May
Brazilian chicken exports in May rose 32.6% to US$624.1 million, while chicken shipments jumped 4.4% to 303,100 tonnes, according to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).
Beef exports, on the other hand, were 6.9% lower in May than a year before at US$334.2 million. Volume, meanwhile, fell 29.3% to 63,900 tonnes.
Pork sales advanced 6.9% in revenue to US$107.6 million, but fell 1.3% in volume to 38,700 tonnes.
Russia, the main buyer of Brazilian meat products, has decided to temporarily suspend meat imports from 85 Brazilian facilities, as from June 15.
