France's LDC to acquire Groupe Arrive
Lambert-Dodart-Chancereul (LDC), the largest poultry processor in France, will acquire Vendee-based Groupe Arrive to develop the market for processed products.
The acquisition, carried out in an undisclosed cash-only transaction, is subject to approval of the Competition Authority, said LDC chief executive officer Denis Lambert.
Southwest cooperative Maisadour owns 40 percent of Fermier Landais group of Arrive, and has the rights of first buy.
Groupe Arrive achieved a turnover of EUR561 million (US$803 million) in 2008, and has 11 production sites and 2,835 employees.
