Russia to re-evaluate grain export policies
Russia should revise the existing grain export practices, agriculture minister Alexei Gordeyev said Wednesday (May 28, 2008).
The minister said that Russia should sell grain products such as flour and formula feed and not grain.
Russia also needs to manufacture new kinds of meat products, he added.
Between July 1, 2007 and May 20, 2008, the country exported 12.7 million tonnes of grain, including 11.6 million tonnes of wheat.
