Vietnamese pangasius firm gets GlobalGAP certification

Aquatex Ben Tre (ABT) has become the second pangasius firm in Vietnam to receive the GlobalGAP certificate, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers said.

 

The British Moody International Certification Ltd granted the certificate to ABT on May 11, the association added.

 

ABT now owns the largest pangasius farming area in the Asian region with 43.5 hectares, including one nursery, and three breeding ponds, which provides 15,000 tonnes of raw fish for processing and exporting yearly.

 

The company earned US$3.013 million from exporting 1,219 tonnes of pangasius as of Apr 15, said the Vietnam General Department of Customs.

 

Earlier on Apr 8, Control Union Vietnam granted the GlobalGAP certificate to NTACO Corporation which has 30 hectares under pangasius breeding.
