Ukraine's winter grain production expected to reach 21 million tonnes

The hydro-meteorological centre of Ukraine forecasts winter grain production in the country in 2010 at the level of nearly 21 million tonnes.

According to the press release of the organisation, the general production of winter grains was estimated with account of sowing areas of winter grains and the closing report about the sowing campaign of winter crops for the harvest-2010 of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.

The hydro-meteorological centre of Ukraine noted that based on the complex estimation of the influence of weather factors to the formation of winter grains harvest volumes during the vegetation period, production for the current year is estimated at the lower level compared to results last year.
