Foster Poultry Farms cited for COVID-19 violations in California, US
The California Department of Industrial Relations has cited Foster Poultry Farms Inc. and four staffing agencies for COVID-19 violations at a location in Livingston, California, the United States.
The department noted that it opened an inspection after being notified that an employee had died from COVID-19 complications. It determined Foster Farms and one of its staffing agencies did not timely report the fatality as required, the department said.
It also conducted a separate inspection at the facility's distribution center.
Fines amounting to a total of US$181,500 have been imposed on Foster Poultry Farms. The department cited Foster Farms US$103,100 for five serious, one repeat regulatory and two regulatory violations at its Livingston facility and US$78,400 for three serious, one repeat regulatory, and two regulatory violations at its distribution center.
Additionally, regulatory violations were issued for the failure to timely report work-related fatalities.
