Ukraine's April meat output slightly down by one percent
                           

 

Meat processing enterprises in Ukraine reduced production of meat and by-products of the first category by 1 percent or 747 tonnes to 71,717 tonnes, compared with March.

 

According to a source from the Cabinet of Ministers, in April 2009, production of meat and by-products of the first category fell by 12.7 percent or 10,443 tonnes, compared with April 2008.

 

In January-April 2009, production of meat and by-products of the first category fell by 10.4 percent or 32,331 tonnes, compared with January-April 2008, to 277,859 tonnes.

 

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in March, meat processing enterprises increased production of meat and by-products of the first category by 10.7 percent or 6,982 tonnes to 72,464 tonnes as against February.

 

In 2008, compared with 2007, production of meat and by-products of the first category rose by 1.2 percent or 10,714 tonnes to 925,800 tonnes.
