Japan lifts import ban on British pork

Japan has lifted its import ban on British pork on Friday.

Japan banned British pork imports in August 2007 due to an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in southern England.

The ban was lifted after the British government confirmed the safety of pork produced in the country, according to the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
